How it works?
Sun shines on the solar modules or wind lets the wind turbine blades rotate, generating DC electricity. The DC electricity is fed into a charge controller which controls the amount of charge. The batteries are charged; they store electricity for times the wind does not blow or the sun does not shine. The Direct Current from the batteries flow to the inverter that converts the power into 240V Alternating Current (AC) for your appliances.

Can I heat water with my off-grid energy system?
It is not recommended. Solar panels and wind turbines convert the solar and wind energy into DC electricity at a low efficiency level. Operating a high power electric heating element from your off-grid would be very inefficient and costly. Solar thermal heating (the direct heating from the sun) is a much more efficient and affordable alternative for heating applications.
